How CityMaply works
Every listing on CityMaply — from a whole city down to a single shop — is added by someone like you, then reviewed before it goes live. Here's exactly how that works, and how to add your own.
The structure
Listings are organised the way people actually search — drill down as far as you need to.
City
The top level — e.g. Islamabad. Add one from the homepage if your city isn't listed yet.
Area
A major zone within a city — e.g. Blue Area. Add one from that city's page.
Mohalla
A neighbourhood within an area — optional, but it lets a place be found at street level.
Place
The actual hospital, school, market, mosque, or business — added under an area or a mohalla.
What happens after you submit
Nothing goes live automatically — every submission is checked first.
1. You submit it
Anyone can add a city, area, mohalla or place — no account needed. Fill in the name and (for places) the category, address and, if you're there in person, your live location.
2. It's reviewed
Every new submission starts as Pending. An admin checks it — usually within an hour — and either approves it, rejects it, or opens it up to Community Review.
3. The community can vote
Some submissions are put to a public vote before going live — anyone can 👍 or 👎 them, and leave a reason or a correction. This helps catch mistakes an admin alone might miss.
4. It goes live
Once approved, the listing appears on the site immediately — searchable, and included in the next sitemap update so it can be found on Google too.
Managing a listing afterwards
Once something's live, here's how to fix, flag, or review it.
Editing a place later
When you add a place, you're shown a Listing ID and an Edit Code — copy them somewhere safe. Use them later on the place's page to suggest a phone number change or other correction, without needing to log in. Edits go through admin review before they apply.
Reporting a problem
Every place page has a Report Issue option — permanently closed, wrong information, a duplicate listing, inappropriate content, or something else. Reports go straight to the admin queue, not to the listing itself.
Leaving a review
Approved places can be rated 1–5 stars with an optional comment. Reviews are checked before they count toward a place's rating, to keep out spam.
